Napp Pharmaceutical Group

For the past 4 years, our employees have completed the Best Companies survey and we have entered both the Best Companies accreditation scheme and the Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies to Work For in the UK. We are proud to have achieved the maximum 3-star status each year, as well as appearing in the Sunday Times Top 100. Our position in 2010 was number 5.

As part of our aim to be a great place to work, and our commitment to continual improvement, we use the Best Companies survey to benchmark our performance in the main areas of employee engagement against the other top companies in the UK. We score very highly in all the areas of engagement that are evaluated through the process particularly in the areas of 'leadership', 'my company', 'my team' and 'fair deal'. Highlights from our 2010 survey results include:

  • 89% of our employees said that they were excited about where the organisation was going
  • 89% said that they felt the organisation was run on strong values and principles
  • 90% said that they felt they could make a valuable contribution to the success of the organisation
  • 89% said that they felt Napp makes a positive difference to the world we live in
  • 85% said that they felt their job was good for their own personal growth

In addition to the Best Companies survey, we also conduct our own internal employee opinion survey. Data from both surveys are used across the company to inform our thinking and discussions around how to take the company further towards our aim of being a great place to work. In keeping with the open and inclusive culture at Napp, every employee has the opportunity to feed into these discussions and plans through a number of different channels.

One of the questions on the Best Companies survey asks employees to say why this is such a great place to work. Here are some of the responses that our employees gave:

"This is a very 'human' organisation, it demands openness, honesty, respect, integrity and offers all of this in return."

"We all have a voice, and my own is no less pertinent than my director; our team is our strength."

"The people, community feel, great working environment and good respect for work-life balance."

"Open sharing of information from all levels, good accessibility to senior/board managers through various forums for all employees. A great deal of time and value is placed into training for skills as well as values/behaviours. Good benefits package. The company values its employees..."
