Introduction to World Class Development
Napp is committed to its Personal Development scheme, known as World Class
Development, the aim of which is to provide the very best training and
development for everyone. We want all of our people to have the opportunity to
develop to their full potential, and in turn to contribute fully to the
success of the Company.
Training and Development
World Class Development consists of a wide range of programmes and other
activities aimed at enhancing skills and increasing knowledge. Some programmes
are suitable for everyone, whereas others are tailored to those working in
specific roles and areas within the Company. Through World Class Development,
we aim to provide training and development that meets not only the needs of
the individual, but also the needs of the business.
Induction
If you were to join the Company (or if you move to a different job within it),
you will be provided with a comprehensive induction programme. This is
designed to help you settle into your new role as quickly and effectively as
possible. You will receive information on the Company in general, as well as
the function and department in which you will be working. You will also
receive job-specific training.
Individual Training and Development Planning - Performance Development
Reviews
This varies across the different functions within Napp, but the principles are
the same: to ensure that managers and their reports meet up on a regular basis
throughout the year to discuss individual performance and review training and
development needs. Napp takes the view that whatever part a person plays in
the Company, in whatever department – their efforts are vital to the success
of the business. If individuals perform well, then the Company itself will
perform well too.

To make sure there really is something for everyone, there are programmes
specifically designed for people in different job roles; for example, those in
secretarial and administrative roles, sales force, technical and professional
staff, including scientists, medics, technicians, operators and management.
Further Education
Napp also supports people who want to study for relevant academic and
professional qualifications, including certificates, diplomas, degrees and
MBAs. All studies are managed through the Company’s Further Education Policy.
